So Long Smoky Skies!

A fire official says the smoky skies that have hung over most of BC for much of the summer, likely won’t return this year.

Kevin Skrepnek from the BC Wildfire Service says the conditions have changed.

“Given the weather outlook we’ve got right now, and given the fire activity that’s happening, I don’t anticipate we’d see a return to those heavy, socked-in, smoky days again.”

Skrepnek says while there is still 155 fires burning in BC, the worst of the fire season appears to be over.
