VJHF Charity Golf Raises Record Amount

This year’s Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation Charity Classic Golf Tournament raised a record-breaking amount of more than $280,000.

The 8th annual tournament was held September 10th at Predator Ridge.

The sold-out event sponsored by The Paul Docksteader Foundation raised funds for the purchase equipment for the cardio-pulmonary and emergency departments at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

Organizing Committee Chairperson Mark Kellock is thanking all of the sponsors, volunteers, Foundation staff, committee members and Predator Ridge for their support and dedication in making what he called an amazing event.

Sue Beaudry, Director of Development for VJH Foundation, added “Our success is thanks to the outstanding support from our venue sponsor, Predator Ridge, and its dedicated members and residents. As well, without the generosity of our sponsors, donors, participants and volunteers, this impressive amount of money could not be raised.”

“Special acknowledgement goes to title sponsor, The Paul Docksteader Foundation and major sponsors who helped make it happen: Black & McDonald, KalTire, Predator Ridge, RBC Dominion Securities, SilverStar Mountain Resort, Wayside Co,” said Beaudry.Beaudry was the recipient of the first annual Cliff Oughtred Leadership Award presented by Paul Docksteader, along with a $1,000 donation to VJH Foundation in addition to his sponsorship to the tournament.

The award was created in memory of Cliff Oughtred who chaired the Charity Classic for the past four years. Oughtred passed away earlier this year.

The award recognizes the commitment, dedication and leadership qualities exemplified by Oughtred.

The Charity Classic has raised $1,462,800 net for equipment at Vernon Jubilee Hospital since its inception in 2010.
