Vernon Fire Rescue says the incident was minor.

Update: 4 pm

Traffic has been backed in part of Vernon this afternoon.

A vehicle caught fire on Alexis Park Drive near 40th Avenue around 2:30.

Officials were detouring vehicles around the site, causing long backups.

We have yet to hear if there were any injuries, or what caused the fire.

3 pm

Emergency officials are dealing with a motor vehicle incident in Vernon.

A vehicle reportedly caught fire on Alexis Park Drive near 40 Avenue around 2:30 pm.

Fire-Rescue and police are on the scene.

Traffic is being detoured around that area.
