Clubhouse Gets Official Opening
NONA’s new Clubhouse is ready to get its official opening.
The North Okanagan Neurological Association’s new facility to help kids with autism has been named Foord’s Clubhouse in honour of the Foord family who are long time supporters.
“Tom (Kal Tire founder) and Nora Foord have been supporters of NONA since 1976. Nora Foord was one of our very first volunteers, and their family continues to support NONA up to this day,” says executive director Helen Armstrong.
Armstrong says a ceremony and opening will be held from 4 to 7 pm Friday.
“It’s going to be dedicated (by Kal Tire’s) Archie Stroh. Our main building, exactly 11 years ago to the day, was dedicated by Tom Foord to Art Sovereign, so there is a little bit of kismet there.”
Close to 1.6 million dollars has been raised for the facility on 34th Street which has been open since July.
Construction started in July 2016.
The new building is next to NONA’s main building called the Treehouse.
