Millions More for Local Schools

More Provincial funding announcements for our area today…these from the Ministry of Education.

$1.6 million dollars is being given to both the Vernon School District and the North Okanagan-Shuswap District.

Over a million will go to a new roof for Fulton Secondary in Vernon and $420-thousand for classroom equipment and supplies, with another $130-thousand for a new 76-passenger bus.

Seven schools in the Shuswap will share $1.1 million to upgrade roofing and heating & air conditioning systems, with over $300-thousand for supplies and equipment and $260-thousand for two new buses.

The Central Okanagan School District is getting $3.8 million, $1.5 million of which goes to George Elliott Secondary in Lake Country for plumbing upgrades…with $1.2 million for 9 school buses.
