Lake Country Loses a Second Councilor

Residents in Carr’s Landing will be heading to the polls in June to elect a new councilor.

Matt Vader has decided to step down to become the Manager of Strategic & Support Services for Lake Country.

Vader says the new position puts him in the thick of municipal negotiations.

“Providing strategic support in terms of a lot of our more complex negotiations and where we are in special projects, as well as project improvement.”

Vader says the new position really fits into his educational and employment background nicely and he couldn’t pass it up.

“Ideally this position would have come up at the end of my term but you have to take the opportunity when it’s presented and that’s just exactly what happened in this case.”

Vader, who has a Bachelor of Management degree, a diploma in Business Administration and who is completing a Professional Certificate in Local Government Managements starts the new position April 10th.

Lake Country earlier lost councilor Owen Dickie who died suddenly from cancer.
