Violent Home Invasion Investigated

Police are looking for suspects after a violent home invasion in Cherryville.

Mounties say it took place in the early morning hours on Saturday but don’t say where.

“In the incident unknown suspects forced their way into a residence and assaulted the 69 year old male occupant prior to committing a theft of various items from the home,” says RCMP Sgt. Dave Evans.

“The male suffered minor injuries. Police believe this was a targeted event and not a random attack.”

Evans says the investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
