Aug 25, 2017 | 3:00 PM

The excitement is building for the 118th edition of the Interior Provincial Exhibition in Armstrong.

The event runs from Aug. 30 to Sept. 3.

General Manager Yvonne Paulson says it’s going to be a great fair

“We have fabulous entertainment planned including Sean Watson – illusionist on the RAM Truck Stage. The BC Association of Goats is celebrating 100 years with an awesome showing of goats of all sizes. Even a week old kid! The Beef and Dairy shows are as popular as ever. Come and watch how these farmers/ranchers care for their animals and show you the best of the best.”

Paulson says the list of entertainers includes Cod Gone Wild, Ben Klick, Shaughnessy O’Brien, Horizon Ridge, Jack Jackson Band, Edgar Muenala Band to name a few.

“KidsWorld is a great place to play farmer in our Barnyard Bonanza. We have Orbis sports balls, hedge maze, face painting, gold panning, petting zoo and lots of other fun things to do with your kids. Great entertainment including ventriloquist Kellie Haines.”

Paulson is confident they will be able to meet or beat last year’s attendance of 150,000.

“We are looking forward to record numbers at the fair. The weather outlook is very promising.”

The rodeo will have a new start time of 7 pm, instead of the previous 8 pm, to make it more family friendly!

“The ladies are starting off the night with barrel racing. Dennis Halstead Rodeo Clown is ready to entertain you all. Full Throttle trick riders will show you how to ride a horse freestyle.”

Paulson also says the little donuts are back along with the Horseblankets and Haystacks.

Canada Day at the fair is being presented by the IPE and Kindale.

“Come dressed in your best red and white and join in the festivities at the Canada Pavilion. We have dancers, cake and fun shaved ice and maple syrup treats on a stick. Join us in holding hands across the fairgrounds singing O’Canada at 2 pm. Help us make history at the celebrating Canada’s 150th and 150 years of agriculture in Canada.”

The fair will also include the midway.

Paulson says admission prices are the same as last year.
