Public Invited To City Birthday Bash

Plans have been announced for an event to celebrate Vernon’s 125th anniversary.

Councilor Catherine Lord says it will be held Thursday August 10 outside City Hall.

“We’re going to have councillors cooking the burgers. You will get a free burger, a drink and a piece of birthday cake to celebrate Vernon’s 125th birthday,” says Lord.

Lord says the event will run from 5 to 8 pm.

The celebration will be in conjunction with Civics Sounds in front of the Museum from 7 to 9 pm featuring the Shawn Lightfoot Band.
