City Park’s north field to close for Denim on the Diamond

The north field and parking lots at Kelowna’s City Park will be closed this weekend for the Denim on the Diamond festival.

The closures will be in effect from Friday through Sunday to accommodate the three-day event.

The event area will be fenced off, but the rest of City Park, including the waterfront, playground and waterpark, will remain open to the public.

Additional impacts related to event setup and takedown can be expected through Tuesday, Sept. 15.

The city is encouraging residents and visitors attending the festival to walk, bike or carpool to help reduce traffic congestion.

Parking availability at the Library Plaza, Memorial and Chapman parkades can be checked through the City of Kelowna’s website.

The festival runs from Friday, Sept. 11, through Sunday, Sept. 13.
