Vernon RCMP have released more information and are asking for the public’s help in a suspicious death investigation.

On Aug. 24, the body of a 54-year old woman was found in her basement suite on 24th Avenue.

Police believe the death to be criminal in nature and have released the victim’s name in the hopes it leads to some tips for investigators.

“The deceased woman has been identified as Tanya Lemecha, who also went by Tanya Thomaser,” Constable Chris Terleski of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said.

“We believe she recently moved back to Vernon in May of this year and are interested in speaking with anyone who had interactions with her in the time leading up to her death.”

Anyone who had been in contact with Lemeche or has information that could help further the investigation is asked to contact the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171.
