Mount Boucherie Community Centre on track for September completion

Restoration work at West Kelowna’s Mount Boucherie Community Centre remains on track for substantial completion in September, despite delays linked to local wildfires.

The $4.8-million project has moved into its second phase, with work underway on the banquet hall, childcare space, playground and parking lot. City staff have already moved back into the renovated building.

The playground is complete, while flooring and painting are underway. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, drywall, millwork, doors, windows and ceiling tiles are also complete.

The project has seen about $290,000 in change orders, mostly related to structural deficiencies and corrective work found during demolition. The city is forecasting a final cost of about $4.73 million, leaving roughly $71,000 in contingency.
