Applications open to book Vernon’s gymnasium, track spaces

Community groups, sports organizations, and others looking to host events at the local recreation centres can now submit their applications.

The City of Vernon has opened its application process for booking out the Active Living Centre’s gymnasium and indoor track, as well as the Dogwood and Priest Valley gyms, for the January to June 2027 season.

“To support fair, consistent, and transparent access to these spaces, the City will use an allocation process similar to the system that has successfully guided arena bookings for many years. While a comprehensive facility allocation policy for all municipal recreation facilities is currently being developed, a draft policy will be used for this intake period,” the city stated in a release.

“Community organizations that regularly use gymnasium space, defined as requiring at least one hour per week during their regular season, are encouraged to submit a request for consideration.”
