Outside funds to help improve vibrancy, appeal of downtown Armstrong businesses

Armstrong’s downtown core will be getting a makeover.

The Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce was successful in an application for a $25,000 grant in support of its Downtown Armstrong Facade Improvement Program.

The program will provide eligible business and property owners with financial aid to improve and enhance their storefronts and building facades; improve accessibility; improve infrastructure; and invest in local commercial properties.

“This funding is wonderful news for our downtown and the businesses that continue to serve our community during a period of significant change,” Kim Magarvey, President of the Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce, said.

“The Facade Improvement Program will provide practical support to help businesses refresh their storefronts, improve accessibility and contribute to the overall revitalization of our downtown core.”

The funding to support the program will be coming through the Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC).

“We are very grateful to the ETSI-BC Team and Board for recognizing the value of this initiative and for their continued investment in communities throughout the Southern Interior,” Patti Noonan, Executive Director Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce, stated.

“Their support will help create meaningful and visible improvements for our businesses and our community.”
