Two children missing from a Northern Alberta town were suspected of being in the Okanagan Valley near Vernon.

On July 8, Beaverlodge RCMP and Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit issued an Amber Alert for Lanakai Morrison. The Alert was later cancelled, but the six year old boy remained missing.

Police said Lanakai may be with his mother, Krista Morrison, along with another child and his father, Karl Morrison and Daniel Ludwig. The two adults were wanted for abduction in contravention of a custody/parenting order.

Lanakai was described as a six-year old boy with a slight build; long, light brown hair and brown eyes. His mother was described as a 35-year-old woman standing 5’8″ tall with a medium build, long, dark brown hair and brown eyes.

The foursome were believed to be in the Okanagan valley near Vernon, possibly travelling east towards the Kootenays, though police also said they were “very mobile and could be in Northern B.C., the Yukon or Alberta.”

The wanted parents were believed to be driving a 2006 red Ford F350 that was lifted and sporting larger tires, though they may also be travelling in a motorhome.

Anyone with information on the missing children were asked to contact their local police or file an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
