Local artists to showcase resiliency and break stigma around mental health challenges
Local artists with lived experience of mental health challenges will have their works on display as part of an annual event.
The Vernon branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA Vernon and District) will hold its 23rd annual Awakening the Spirit Art Show and Sale at the Vernon Community Arts Centre July 23 to August 18.
The art show and sale will feature the works of local artists with lived experience of mental health challenges using their artistic expression as a tool to support and improve their well being.
“Art has a unique ability to heal, inspire, and connect people,” Julia Payson, Executive Director of CMHA Vernon and District, said.
