Vipers rebranded with new logo, colours

The Vernon Vipers have a new look for the 2026-27 season and beyond.

The local BCHL team has rebranded with a new logo and new colour scheme ahead of the upcoming hockey season.

“[The inspiration for the design is] we wanted to be a true viper, the snake that’s on our old logo is a cobra, but this is a fierce and kind of fun looking viper that embodies the presence we want to have on the ice,” Matt Cooke, Head Coach and General Manager of the team, told Vernon Matters.

“We’re going to shift [our colours as well]. We’re going to get rid of the yellow and we’re not going to use the red anymore, and we’re going to a really dark blue and then a true gold.

“Probably the closest thing to that colouring would be the old Saint Louis Rams. So it’s really dark navy and gold, and white, obviously”

The previous logo had been in place since 1996, and Cooke said it was time to close out that 30 year history and spruce up the look of the team.

“I think every company goes through a time when it’s time, and I think the Vipers organization, with the regime that’s in place and with the ownership group, it was time to spruce something up and give us a fresh start.”

The Head Coach and GM acknowledged the longevity of the old logo, saying they won’t be getting rid of that history, but also hoped people would embrace the new style.

Along with the rebranding, the team recently launched an online store, and Cooke said the new logo and colours would be available for purchase in the near future.
