Armstrong businesses burned in overnight fire

A fire in Armstrong significantly damaged two businesses and impacted a third overnight.

Armstrong Fire Department responded to reports of a fire at a business on Pleasant Valley Boulevard shortly before midnight Tuesday, July 14.

“The Wild Oak Cafe and the Twisted Purl [Yarn Studio] were highly damaged,” Armstrong Fire Captain Karl Luttmerbing told Vernon Matters.

“The Great Wall [restaurant] had some smoke and water damage.”

Fire crews had extinguished the flames, put out any hot spots, and cleared the scene by 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Fire investigators were on scene Wednesday to determine the cause of the blaze.

No one was injured in the fire.

Firefighting efforts were supported by crews from BX/Swan Lake, Vernon and Enderby.
