Hospice House anniversary celebration a success

North Okanagan Hospice Society celebrated a milestone year for the Hospice House with a successful Kentucky Derby Garden Party.

The organization (NOHS) held the party with around 85 guests adorned in fitting attire for the theme such as elegant hats, beautiful dresses and sharp suits who enjoyed snacks and drinks, participated in games and activities, and supported the group.

The most fashionable guests were awarded for Best Dressed, Best Hat, Dapper at the Derby, Best Duo, and Showstopper.

During the event NOHS received a $1,500 donation from the Royal Bank of Canada, and also split a 50/50 raffle with the lucky winner and the organization each taking home $722.50. There was also a $1 bucket draw, though the total raised from that was not disclosed.
