Performers sought for inaugural Mind Over Music Mental Health Festival

Apr 24, 2026 | 6:00 AM

The local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association is running its first ever music festival and is looking for groups to perform.

CHMA Vernon will hold its inaugural Mind Over Music Mental Health Festival on September 26.

The event aims to showcase local musicians, artists and creative facilitators, while also using the music and creative expression to spark open conversations, reduce stigma, and build awareness around mental health.

“We are looking for artists to perform live or lead a music or creativity-based workshop,” Vicki Proulx, director of fund development and communications at CMHA Vernon, said.

The organization said they specifically want to bring in people who can support conversations around anxiety, depression grief and burnout, or bring forward creative tools for healing, connection and resilience. CMHA Vernon added these performances and workshops should be geared around serving people between the ages of 12 and 24.

Local artists interested in taking part in the Mind Over Music Mental Health Festival can provide a short bio and links to their work at events@chmavernon.ca.
