Two collisions on 34th St. within 24 hours

A downtown Vernon road was the scene of two collisions over a short period of time.

The first crash occurred around 4 p.m. Wednesday, at 34th Street and Coldstream Avenue behind the Sun Valley Centre.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP said a vehicle was travelling on 34th St. when it collided with another vehicle that pulled out into the intersection.

The second crash occurred on Thursday around 12:30p.m. at 34th St. and 31st Ave. near Surplus Herby’s.

RCMP said that crash also involved a vehicle travelling on 34th St. and colliding with a vehicle that pulled into the intersection.

Both crashes were t-bones.

No injuries were reported in Wednesday’s crash, while one person was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries Thursday.

The RCMP told Vernon Matters in an email that “34th Avenue downtown is very busy at these times of day and it’s not uncommon to have collisions on separate days.”
