A close call for one Kelowna resident after an early morning house fire on Cameron Avenue.
Kelowna Fire Department crews were called to a home in the 1100 block around 2 a.m. on April 17, where smoke was seen coming from the rear of a single-family residence. The response was upgraded to a second alarm as crews arrived on scene.
Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the blaze, which caused damage to a laundry room and the exterior of the home.
The lone occupant was alerted by a working smoke detector and got out safely without injury.
