MindBlown science festival coming to Vernon

Learners of all ages will be able to take a first of it’s kind science festival for the Okanagan.

The Okanagan Science Centre will host MindBlown May 21 to 23.

The three-day celebration of all things science will feature a number of events and activities

  • May 21
    • Branium: Think it. Try it. Discover it. The launch of the festival with a special day dedicated to bringing schools groups and community partners to the Okanagan Science Centre (OSC)
    • Battle of the Brains: Science Trivia Night (19+)
  • May 22
    • Mix-It Magic: Potions Lab
    • OSC co-hosts the Polson Night Market with a science-themed twist
    • Bloomin’ Bingo (19+)
  • May 23
    • Fossils and Science workshops led by the Fossil Guy, Bob O’Donnell, who will present and showcase a collection of local fossils
    • Planetarium Shows
    • Gyro Chair Rides
    • Ultimate Showdown: Oobleck vs Slime

“For over 40 years, the Okanagan Science Centre has been a leader in science education in our region, inspiring curiosity across generations,” OSC Executive Director, Dione Chambers, said.

“MindBlown is a natural extension of that legacy, an opportunity to bring our community together to experience science, for all ages, in fun and interactive ways.“

The OSC will also have free admission May 21, giving people the opportunity to take part in interactive science workshops, Planetarium shows, and Gyro Chair rides. Regular general admission rates will apply for the rest of the festival.
