Towne Theatre temporarily closed due to equipment failure

The Vernon Towne Theatre has had to temporarily close its doors.

The theatre, located on 30th Avenue in the downtown core, has faced some equipment failures that led to it not being able to screen films, including the new Superman movie.

A sign posted to the theatre’s door and posted on Facebook said they had faced technical issued with the projector, leading to the closure. It added there will be updates posted on social media and the Towne Theatre website once they have more details on the timeline for reopening.

The Towne Theatre did not immediately respond to a request from Vernon Matters for further details on how this would affect operations or how long it would take to repair or replace the equipment.
