Dry conditions worsen in Southern B.C.
Drought conditions are worsening across the southern Interior — including the Okanagan — with river levels dropping and little rain on the horizon.
The province gave a drought and wildfire update Monday, warning that two-thirds of B.C.’s rivers are below normal, with 40 per cent flowing at less than 10 per cent of typical levels.
Meanwhile, conditions in the northeast have improved slightly, but officials say long-term rain is still needed.
People are being asked to conserve water now to help avoid restrictions later this summer.
