Old Okanagan Highway paving work to bring lane reductions

May 22, 2026 | 11:11 AM

Drivers in West Kelowna should expect delays later this month as asphalt remediation gets underway on a stretch of Old Okanagan Highway.

From May 25 to 29, crews will be working between Chieftain Road and Reece Road, with single-lane alternating traffic in place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Two-way traffic will resume each evening after work wraps for the day.

Access to driveways, businesses and emergency services will be maintained throughout the project, though motorists are advised to expect short delays and traffic control personnel on site during daytime hours.

No parking will be permitted along the affected stretch during construction, and bylaw officers will be enforcing restrictions. Vehicles left in restricted zones may be towed to allow crews to complete the work safely and on schedule.
