Lumby Prepares For Investors
The Village of Lumby feels it is missing out on the building and business boom that seems to be happening in the Okanagan right now.
A lot of empty lots and the business park don’t have proper services or amenities in the community to attract new interest.
Mayor Kevin Acton hopes that can change.
“If we are ready for developers and have an idea what we are going to do ahead of time, then when they come to us and ask us questions, we already can have a prospectus in place for them to pick and choose properties that suit their needs.”
Acton says the Village will move quickly to try to correct the situation.
“We understand that spring is probably going to be when most activity starts, so we’ll be looking to try to get some of the things in place by spring.”
He adds affordable housing will bring in workers and an available workforce will attract new business.
