A heated tile floor provides a pleasant ambient air temperature for a bathroom. “There’s nothing worse than the feel of forced air blowing on you in the winter when you get out of the shower,” stated Dennis. Rather than creating drafts, the radiant heat emanating from the floor warms the room gently and evenly.

The programmable thermostats offer advantages like setting energy-efficient heat schedules or using your smartphone to turn the heat on and off. On the other hand, like any electronics, there’s the possibility of a failure in the programmable thermostats. Dennis said sometimes a power surge or heavy usage can cause a malfunction.

Most heated tile floors have warranties of three to five years.

Heated tiles not only add comfort and a touch of luxury to your bathroom but can also help enhance the value and overall appeal of your home.

“You should get some value back out of your heated floor investment when and if you decide to sell your home,” stated Dennis. Many buyers put heated tile floors on their list of must-haves in a potential home purchase.
