Lumby Mayor re-elected, still eying provincial seat
The Mayor of Lumby is back in office for yet another term, but is still looking to move on to provincial politics.
Kevin Acton was re-elected to serve as Mayor for a fifth term with 443 votes, or 75.1 per cent of voter support, in the municipal election.
“I’m so happy that Lumby came out and supported, even more people voted this election than last, usually they don’t when it’s just the mayor and not the whole council so it was nice to see,” Acton told Vernon Matters, alluding to the fact that the previous council members were all acclaimed as no opponents came forward to run for those seats.
He beat out Bradley Weston, who earned 147 votes in this election, and who also challenged Acton for the role in the previous election.
