Drought conditions persist approaching end of October
The lack of rain continues to have impacts as the drought conditions have worsened in the Okanagan.
The B.C. River Forecast increased the Okanagan’s Drought Rating to Level 3 Thursday, which was up from the Level 2 rating given to the area the previous two weeks. It was also the highest rating given to any region within B.C. in the latest drought report.
The Okanagan’s Water Scarcity Level also remained High, and the only other basins with similar ratings were those bordering the Okanagan.
“Many Okanagan tributaries continue to approach or remain below critical flow thresholds,” the River Forecast Centre said in its weekly report.
