Salmon River Bridge rehabilitation to begin in the new year

The bridge crossing Salmon River will be closed for a few months in the new year for rehabilitation work.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said the bridge on 10th Ave. S.W frontage road in Salmon Arm would be closed from early January until March 31, 2024.

The closure is required for the $1-million rehabilitation project aimed at extending the life of the bridge.

Access to businesses along 10th Ave. S.W. will be available from the 30th St. S.W. exit off Highway 1 during the closure.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and be cautious in work zones, obey all posted signs and traffic control measures, and watch out for roadside workers.
