Annual garden tour going to support HVAC replacement

Two milestone years will be celebrated with a charity event showcasing Vernon’s green-thumbed residents.

The 22nd annual People Place Society Garden Tour will go June 6 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The self-guided tours will take people through nine gardens in Foothills, East Hill and Coldstream, with proceeds going to support an HVAC replacement project at the People Place building in downtown Vernon, which houses a number of other non-profits including Community Foundation North Okanagan, Independent Living Vernon, Hope Outreach Vernon, and several offices for the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The agency also partnered with the Vernon and District Garden Club, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, and many of the members’ gardens will be showcased on the tour.

Along with viewing the gardens, tour goers will have the opportunity to enter raffles, bid in silent auctions, take in some live music, and shop at local artisan’s stalls.
