Nov 10, 2023 | 11:15 AM

Part of the proceeds from a popular cookie fundraiser will be going to a Vernon society that provides services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Tim Hortons will hold its first ever Holiday Smile Cookie campaign Nov. 13-19 where 100 per cent of the proceeds are donated to local charities and community groups across Canada.

Archway Society for Domestic Peace has been selected as a recipient of the fundraiser at the five Tim’s locations in Vernon.

Fifty per cent of proceeds of cookies sold at the Vernon Tim’s go directly to Archway Society, while the remaining 50 per cent will be directed to Tim Horton’s Foundation Camps.

The Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie is a white chocolate chip sugar cookie that’s infused with red and green sprinkles and adorned with a hand-decorated smile.

“Guests can visit their local Tim Hortons starting next week and purchase a Holiday Smile Cookie for $1.50 and help give back to their community this holiday season,” Monica Kriese, community engagement coordinator for Archway Society for Domestic Peace, said.

Cookies are also available by pre-order with a minimum order of 12 cookies (at three of the local locations); 5205 25 Ave.(Okanagan Landing), 2501 58 Ave (Walmart),and 3510 27 St (next to Co-Op Gas) in Vernon.

You can find out more from Archway here.

The society provides a wide range of supportive services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence including safe shelter (transition house program), counselling, child and youth advocacy, outreach services, and collaborative community projects.

All services are free of charge and are made possible by their volunteers, community partners, donations and corporate support and programs like the Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie fundraiser.
