Spallumcheen Prepares For More Flooding

May 11, 2017 | 4:27 AM

The Township of Spallumcheen has upgraded its Emergency Operations Centre to a Level 2.

This is due to the thunderstorm watch for the region this afternoon with the possibility it could cause more flooding.

Residents are advised that sand and sandbags are available at the public works yard on Eagle Rock Road and on the East side of Mcleod Park at Sidney Crescent.

Anyone needing bags will need to bring a shovel.

Emergency calls from Spallumcheen residents are to be made to 250 – 546 – 3013 (for life and safety only at this time).

A Town Hall meeting is going to be held Monday at 10 am at the township office to brief residents on the latest situation.

Further information on the flood preparations and the meeting are available on the Township’s website at www.spallumcheentwp.bc.ca under News.
