Due July 2

Less than a week to file property taxes

Jun 25, 2026 | 5:02 PM

Vernon property owners have less than a week to fully pay their taxes.

Property taxes are due Thursday, July 2, and anyone who does not pay their dues in full could face a 10 per cent penalty.

Additionally, people have until July 2 to submit documents confirming they have successfully applied for the provincial Home Owner Grant. That is separate from the B.C. Speculation Tax declaration.

The City of Vernon encouraged people to log into their MyCity account to confirm their Home Owner Grant had been processed, check their account balance, and review recent transactions.

People were also advised to allow extra time for processing tax payments and applications for the Home Owner Grant, as the Canada Day holiday may cause a slow down in those processes.

People who have not received a notice could also contact the city’s Finance Department at 250-550-3636.
