Vehicle rolls and ends up in ditch

One person was taken to hospital after a crash on Highway 97 south of Vernon this afternoon.

At approximately 1:45 pm, Vernon Fire Rescue Services (VFRS) was dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle incident on the highway between Westridge and Bernie roads.

A southbound vehicle, said to be a mini-van, went off the road and rolled, ending up upside down in a ditch.

“Vernon North Okanagan RCMP and BC Ambulance Service also attended the scene. The lone occupant of the vehicle was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital with undetermined injuries,” Josh Winquist, communications officer with the City of Vernon, told Vernon Matters.
