Vipers host Silverbacks for first pre-season home game

Sep 6, 2022 | 10:00 AM

The Vernon Vipers play their first home game of the BC Hockey League’s exhibition season tonight against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Game time is 7 p.m. at Kal Tire Place, the second of six exhibition games for the Snakes.

The Silverbacks defeated the Vipers 6-3 on Sunday at the Shaw Centre to open the pre-season.

“We had some very good moments in tonight’s game,” said Jason McKee, head coach and GM of the Vipers. “Unfortunately we had a bad 10 minutes in the second period which ultimately cost us the game.”

Ethan Merner, Ludovik Tardif and Dane Westen scored for Vernon who have 11 players back from last season.
