Crews work overnight to clean city sewer mains
City of Vernon crews will be working on a project this week while most people are fast asleep.
The city says two sanitary sewer main flushing projects will require overnight work along portions of 28th Avenue and 41st Avenue.
“Part of the project includes closed circuit TV (CCTV) inspection of the underground infrastructure, which means work needs to be done when there is minimum flow moving through the sewer system,” a city news release stated.
On Thursday, August 11, and Friday August 12, crews will be flushing and conducting CCTV work on 41st Avenue between 30th and 32nd Streets, as well as on 28th Avenue between 30th and 32nd Streets. The work is expected to take place between 1:00 and 7:00 a.m. each day.
