High Water In Lumby

May 5, 2017 | 11:29 AM

Lumby is already seeing some high water due to last night’s heavy rain.

The village’s Deputy Corporate Officer, Melanie Wenzoski, says water is already going across Shuswap Avenue.

It’s also near some homes on the lower area just off of Faulkner and Bessette Street.

” A mobile home park as well as two homes, about ten trailers in the mobile home park. I think it’s about a nine or ten complex condo unit.”

That’s in the Faulkner Avenue and Bessette Street area

” The condo units aren’t flooding at this point in time. Water is pretty close to coming over the banks there but I’m sure it’s probably just crested at the trailer park.”

Meanwhile, forest fire fighters crews are helping to fill sandbags for the village.

Residents can pick up sand and sandbags by the Curling rink, as well as on Faulkner Avenue by the Salmon Trail and in the 1900 block of Shuswap Avenue.
