Local residents got their fill of April showers.
Environment Canada says Vernon got over one and a half times the normal amount of rain over the month.
“We had 54.3 millimetres of precipitation recorded in the month. Normal is 33.7,” says meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau. “It was about 160 percent of normal for the month of April.”
Charbonneau says many communities got soaked.
“It wasn’t necessarily record setting for most places in the Southern Interior, but it was quite a bit wetter than normal”
April was also a bit colder than normal.
The average temperature was 8.1 degrees Celsius, down from the normal 8.7.
