The province is shipping 200,000 rapid test kits to schools across the province.
The rapid antigen tests will be able to be used by staff, teachers and administrators who have symptoms of COVID-19.
The province said these tests are an additional tool to support the continuity of learning in school while also reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission. They will assist medical health officers across B.C. in their work to investigate clusters and outbreaks in schools.
The number of teaching and non-teaching staff in a school will determine how many tests the school districts, independent schools and First Nations schools receive.
