One person was injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 97 west of Vernon this morning.

RCMP were called to the site near the O’Keefe Ranch in Spallumcheen around 9:30 a.m.
“The investigation has determined a Super B transport truck, travelling northbound on Highway 97, lost control and collided with two passenger vehicles. One person was transported from the scene by BC Ambulance Service personnel for treatment of non-life threatening injuries,” said Constable Chris Terleski, media relations officer for Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.
Officers from the BC Highway Patrol Falkland, as well as personnel from the BC Ambulance Service and the Armstrong Spallumcheen Fire Department also responded to the crash.
“An extended closure is not expected and the highway has been temporarily closed to allow emergency personnel to safely complete their work and clear the roadway,” said Terleski.
The crash occurred during the the area’s first snowfall of the season, but it’s not known if the road conditions were a factor.

Drive BC is reporting a multi-vehicle incident on Highway 97 near the O’Keefe Ranch which is causing major traffic backups in both directions.
The incident is said to be near St Anne’s Road, between Irish Creek Road and Grandview Flats Road with emergency vehicles on the scene.
Vernon Matters has requested more details from RCMP.
The crash occurred during the the area’s first snowfall of the season.
