Greater Vernon saw an uptick of COVID-19 cases last week.

The B.C. Centre for Disease Control said there were 76 cases in Vernon, Coldstream and RDNO areas B and C from Dec. 27 to Jan. 2, up from 48 the previous week.

Twenty-two recent cases were connected to Vernon’s Venture Training over the holidays, with 17 staff and five residents impacted.

The Vernon and District Association for Community Living, which operates programs and care homes for people with developmental disabilities, has closed its day services for an indefinite period due to the positive tests.

Elsewhere, Enderby had four cases, Armstrong-Spallumcheen had three, Salmon Arm reported four, Kamloops 68, and Kelowna and Central Okanagan had 139, down more than 60 from the previous week’s 214.
