Three more COVID-19 cases in Interior Health; 158 new cases province-wide

Provincial health officials say B.C. has recorded 158 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday (Oct. 14), including three more within Interior Health.

The new cases swell the provincial total to 10,892, spread through B.C. as follows:

  • 3,941 — Vancouver Coastal (up by 49)
  • 5,697 — Fraser Health (up by 102)
  • 237 — Island Health (up by 2)
  • 585 — Interior Health (up by 3)
  • 343 — Northern Health (up by 2)
  • 89 — Reside outside of Canada (unchanged)

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says there are 1,496 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C. Wednesday, including 84 patients in hospital and 24 in intensive care.

No further deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours. The provincial death toll remains at 250.

The total of those under active public health monitoring due to COVID-19 exposure is now 3,608.

The number of people considered fully recovered has reached 9,112, or 84 per cent of all recorded cases.
