COVID-19 case counts increase in B.C., officials ‘concerned’
COVID-19 cases are on the rise in B.C. with 53 new infections since Thursday, including four in Interior Health.
The number of active cases is now at 386, with 11 people in hospital, but fortunately no new COVID-related deaths (total still at 195).
More than 1,500 people throughout the province are currently self-isolating because they have COVID-19 or have had a high-risk exposure to the virus.
“This is a concern and something we can change,” said a statement issued Friday by Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, and Health Minister Adrian Dix.
