Lakeshore Road reduced to one-way traffic for construction
Construction season is in full swing.
Drivers in Kelowna should expect traffic changes on Lakeshore Road starting Monday as a section of the busy corridor is reduced to one-way flow for about a month.
The change will affect the stretch between Lanfranco Road and Richter Street, with northbound traffic detoured via Richter Street during construction. A temporary pathway will remain in place within the northbound lane to allow safe passage for pedestrians and cyclists through the work zone.
The City of Kelowna says the adjustment is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades that include improvements to underground water and storm systems, along with new bike lanes, landscaping and roadwork designed to improve safety and traffic flow.
