47 new Covid cases in B.C.

Health officials have announced 47 new Covid-19 cases in B.C., including 7 new cases in the Interior.

Most of the new cases were in the Vancouver and Fraser health regions.

The number of active cases is up to 351, and there have been no new Covid-related deaths (still at 195).

Nine people are hospitalized with Covid-19, with six of those in intensive care.

In a statement, Health Minister Adrian Dix and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said there have been no new health-care facility outbreaks. In total, three long-term care or assisted living facilities have active outbreaks.

There are no new community outbreaks. However, there continues to be community exposure events throughout the province and on flights into and out of British Columbia.

  • 66 people who reside outside of Canada.
