UPDATE: Highway crash slows traffic

UPDATE

Vernon Fire Rescue was called to the intersection of Highway 6 and Waddington Drive around 12:10 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a motor vehicle incident.

“Upon arrival, firefighters found two vehicles were involved in a crash; it appears one of the vehicles was rear-ended,” said Christy Poirier, city communications manager.

RCMP and BC Ambulance Service were also at the scene.

No injuries were reported to Fire Rescue members.

“Firefighters cleared the scene a little over an hour later,” said Poirier.

EARLIER

It’s slow going for vehicles on Highway 6 in Vernon.

Police and fire personnel have been on the scene of a crash near Waddington Drive that took place around 12:30 p.m.

The vehicle traffic in the area is down to one lane.
