The latest count estimate there are about 475 Canada Geese in the North Okanagan.
City of Vernon staff say that’s about 20 per cent of the valley goose population.
Seventy-two nests were identified this spring, and anywhere between two to nine eggs were addled in each nest as part of the valley’s goose management program.
“There were two nests not accessible, and one nest that was past the time frame of when addling can occur. Areas that were identified as needing more exploring next year is Predator Ridge,” an administration update to Vernon council said.
