Outdoor pools and other city recreation sites could be next to reopen

Some pools and other recreational facilities could start to reopen soon in Vernon.

City of Vernon staff are recommending Vernon council give the green light to reopen the Lakeview and Lavington outdoor pools, the Polson Spray Park, Lakers Clubhouse and Kal Tire Place North.

Kids summer camps could also get the go ahead if a Covid-19 risk mitigation – safe reopening guidelines are endorsed by council at their meeting today.

Staff is also suggesting reserve funds of $125,000 be used to cover any shortfall in the Recreation Services budget this year due to the reopening of recreational facilities and programs,
